How your suffering becomes your impact

mindset Feb 25, 2023

This whole incarnation thing? Damn, it's been hard some times. Living in the duality of love and pain, where the very core of our pain is love, it can be so challenging at times.

We experience pain, BECAUSE we love. We love life and we loose it. We love someone else and we loose them. We love the earth and we see how she is being damaged. We love our health and vitality and one day we might loose it. We love all magnificent creations in our lives and we all loose them. So we suffer.

We suffer when we 'hold on' to (the story of) our pain instead of experiencing it fully.

We suffer when our pain serves nothing but our tears.

Pain is inevitable. But we don't have to suffer.

When you have suffered enough, there might be a time when you realize there's something else to be done with your pain.

It's the time when you discover that your pain can actually contribute to the well being of another human or of the planet.

The energy of pain, sadness, anger, frustration, rage, ... can be so powerful.

If only we could hold that energy, feel it fully and then compress it into a burning desire for creation. Steer it towards the making of some beauty, something meaningful, something that will touch another soul.

That's why the most powerful pieces of art are often rooted in deep pain.

The reason they touch us so deeply is because we all recognize that pain. It is something that unites us. It is part of the human condition.

We are all artists.

In the way that we can all create. We are makers.

What separates great artists from the rest of us is for sure the devotion and commitment to the artistry itself, but it all starts with the devotion to use your pain (or any intense emotion) as a an energy power for creation.

So next time you are challenged in life, instead of suffering, try to make something out of it after you are done sitting with your pain.

I bet your creation will touch at least one heart. And that heart can never feel untouched again.

That's your impact!

In the image you see a painting of one of our clients, who suffered a lot from severe migraine and dark feelings. Since she has taken it up as her purpose to transform her pain into artwork and touch others in doing so, her own condition has totally shifted. All credits to Joke Deckx.
